Birds and Beaks
A passing flock of birds was the main inspiration for this digital painting/illustration, after thinking what would it be like to be amongst a mass of different birds, with beaks, claws and wings all competing with each other in a tiny space. First I started with a pencil sketch, rich dark marks made with 4B and 2B Derwent pencils, from there a scan and this time into Photoshop to start layering brush strokes, scratches and just experimenting to get a rich abstract painting. The next step will be to go to canvas and try Acrylic and inks to see how much further I can develop this vision.
